This socks!!!

This is a pretty old picture I found, but I had to share. Just look
at all the socks that didn't have matching pairs! Appalling.

Don't worry, we've gotten the situation under control ever
since my OCD kicked in.

Love ya Betty, but...

Anyone else a little tired of the whole "lets-get-Betty-White-to-act-
scandalous-talk-about-sex-and-hit-on-younger-men" shtick?

Next thing you know she's gonna be on Twilight or something.

Don't get me wrong, I love the lady! But enough already, Hollywood.
Please move on to your next obsession.

And their names are...

Update on my Babies

As most of you know, at 20 weeks we discovered that our identical twin girls had Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). It was pretty devastating and I've never been so scared in my life. But thanks to the miracle of modern medicine and the amazing doctors who treated us in Philadelphia, our girls are doing so well and growing every week. I really want to thank all of you who sent encouraging messages, emails and said prayers on our behalf. We feel so blessed.

Yesterday, at their 28 week ultrasound they were measuring:
2 lbs. 7 oz. (Baby A) and 2 lbs. 9 oz. (Baby B)

Here are some pics from our experience in Philadelphia:

At the airport on our way to Philly. Just a few
hours after we were diagnosed. I was such a mess.
(The pictures I'm holding are all of Baby B, we
never got a picture of Baby A because
she was too small and trapped by the
membrane...now in recent ultrasound
pictures you see them side by side
and they're approx. the same size!)
During this ultrasound is when we found out that they
were identical girls. (Once again, at this point you can
only really see Baby B, the recipient twin.)
2+ hour ultrasounds are a hard thing to stay awake for.
About to go into surgery.
Right after the laser surgery, I was so out of it and all
I remember is Aaron laughing and taking pictures of me.
1 hour later I was so ready for my Choc Chip Pancakes!
With the amazing team who performed the surgery!
Dr. Mark Johnson & Dr. Julie Moldenhauer.
And the wonderful nurse who took such good care
of me before and after the surgery!
Gorgeous flowers from my people at Leo Burnett!
After I was discharged from the hospital, we stayed
at the Ronald McDonald House for the week that we
had left to be in Philly. In a "Hockey-themed room",
I know...it is SO me! :) And yeah, I rock a
wheelchair every once in a while now.

Aaron and I will never forget this experience and how it really strengthened our testimony on the incredible power of prayer.

My Non-Apology

So I just realized that its been almost 5 months since my last post...I would normally begin apologizing and giving excuses. But let's get real, you know me–it's going to happen again. So let's just enjoy each other's company while I'm on my latest blogging kick. :)
